Publix initiates Category Reviews for a number of reasons, including
strategic importance, the addition of new items or programs, industry changes,
and for competitive advantage.
|
|
Here's how the process works: |
-
When Publix identifies a category for review, we contact all major suppliers
for participation. [Note: If you are not in our database as a
potential supplier, please
pre-qualifywith Publix, so we can contact you for future reviews of
products, equipment, or services that pertain to your area.]
-
Interested suppliers complete a Category Review pre-qualification
process that includes filling out a questionnaire tailored to the
particular product, equipment, or service being reviewed.
-
After evaluating the responses to these questionnaires, Publix pre-qualifies
selected suppliers to participate in an online auction or another
price-discovery process.
-
Following the auction or price-discovery process (i.e., RFQ, RFP, etc.),
Publix may initiate a supplier certification process with one or more of the
potential suppliers by performing supplier visits, sample testing, etc.
Publix will consider all factors before making a final decision.
